Progress Over Perfection: My Journey

I’ve always believed in the power of progress, not perfection.

Professionally, my journey began immediately after I graduated with my undergraduate degree, when I joined a reputable organization. From the very beginning, I had a strong desire to grow and improve. I pursued my post-graduation while continuing to work. But then, life took a turn. I had to take a big break from my career, and for a long time, I was scared I might never return to the professional world.
Still, I didn’t give up.
I enrolled in online courses, kept learning, and even planned to pursue a master’s degree. Just before I could start that path, an opportunity came my way—I rejoined the workforce after being out of the industry for over three years.
Was it easy? Not at all.
But I made progress.
Even today, I know I have a long way to go. I’m not perfect in every aspect. Sometimes I stumble. Sometimes I take a step back. But I always remind myself to move—even if it’s just 1% forward. That’s all that matters to me: showing up and growing.
My personal journey tells a similar story.
Back in 2016, I was at my heaviest. I hated the idea of progress because it felt so slow and unnoticeable. But I knew that consistency is the secret. So I began—first with Pilates, then HIIT, and eventually strength training.
If I had waited for perfection, I would have never come this far.
There were many moments when I wanted to give up—because my goals seemed too far. But I reminded myself that progress is still progress, even if it doesn’t look like success yet.
Physically, I’ve been through a lot over the last decade.
Emotionally, I’ve had to fight harder than I ever imagined.
But I tell myself every day:
“I am strong. I am moving forward. I am becoming the best version of myself.”
And I truly believe—one day I’ll be the fittest woman I know.
Because every day, in every little way, I am making progress.

Thanks, Bharath!!! It means a lot to me :)
Sri, Your journey is incredibly inspiring proof that resilience, consistency, and a growth mindset can overcome any setback. You have come so far by simply showing up and moving forward, 1% at a time. Keep going you are becoming stronger every day, and it shows.
